Monstera Deliciosa

Overview

Plant primarily grown indoors. Has huge glossy leaves with holes that allow it to survive well within its natural rain forest habitat when strong winds and heavy downpours.

Water

Water about once a week. Water slowly but deeply using an overhead or bottom watering approach. Let your Monstera almost dry out between waterings.

Light

Requires 5-8 hours of bright indirect light. Too much sunlight can scorch the leaves.

Soil

They do best in potting mix that holds moisture yet also drains well. They prefer a soil mix with a slightly acidic pH, in the range of 5.5-6.5. A soil mix containing 1 part peat moss/coco coir, 1 part perlite, and 4 parts pine bark fines is an excellent mix.
