New Year, New Skills: Introduction to Watercolor Florals

Ready to build on what you've learned and take your watercolor practice to the next level? Join us for this four-week workshop series designed to deepen your skills and introduce you to the art of watercolor florals. Whether you're a complete beginner or have a bit of experience with a brush, Meg will guide you step by step through every petal and leaf.

In this immersive class, held every Tuesday evening in March, you’ll:

  • Explore watercolor techniques and color theory with a focus on creating beautiful floral hues

  • Discover the best materials for different painting goals

  • Master basic brushwork for painting common flowers and foliage

  • Develop your observation, composition, and drawing skills

  • Learn to create simple abstract floral compositions using wet-on-wet and wet-on-dry techniques

  • Add texture and detail to elevate your work to the next level

  • Experiment with layering and glazing techniques for depth and richness

Class Breakdown:

  • Week 1: Materials Overview, Color Theory, and Botanical Sketching Basics

  • Week 2: Flower and Foliage Exploration, Seeing Shapes in Nature

  • Week 3: Composition, Refining Brushwork, and Adding Fine Details

  • Week 4: Final Project: Bringing It All Together

By the end of this course, you’ll have the tools and confidence to create your own beautiful watercolor florals, plus a deeper understanding of techniques you can continue to develop at home.

*Please note, this workshop is booked as a series and is not available to book individually as each class builds upon the previous one. All workshops are non-refundable. Seats can be transferred to another workshop attendee, however you will be responsible for finding a replacement.

Host: Meg Perotti | Bio

Meg Perotti is a fine artist based in Northern CA. Her love of nature and the abundant beauty around us all inspires her delicate illustrations and elegant botanical paintings. She marvels at the mundane, the beauty between the cracks, the wonders of nature- and encourages others to do the same. Take a walk with her and you’ll likely hear her proclaiming her awe for the clouds or be inspired to stop and smell the roses… or to paint them. She wears many hats and splits her time between painting, photography and homeschooling her three children.
